17) Sanitary Technician

  • A Sanitary Technician inspects and manages food and environmental sanitation to improve sanitation for people.
  • Eligibility
    1. A person who has completed a curriculum on public health or hygiene at a junior college or a school recognized as equal by Minister of Education (including foreign schools recognized by Minister of Education; same applies hereafter).
    2. A person who has obtained a degree in public health or hygiene in accordance with Article 9 of Act of Recognition of Credits, Etc., having been recognized as academically qualified as a person who has graduated from a junior college according to Article 8 of the same act.
    3. A person who is licensed or qualified for a foreign hygienist as recognized by Minister of Health and Welfare.
    Disqualification standards
    1. A mentally ill person under Subparagraph 1 of Article 3 of the Mental Health Act(except for those who are recognized by a medical specialist to be fit to act as a Sanitary Technician)
    2. An addict to narcotics, marijuana or any psychoactive drugs
    3. A person in whose case, the execution of a sentence is not completed or the decision not to execute such sentence is not yet finalized after being sentenced to imprisonment without prison labor or a heavier punishment due to the violation of the Licensed Sanitarians Act, the Communicable Disease Prevention Act, the Quarantine Act, the Food Sanitation Act, the Medical Service Act, the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act, the Act on the Control of Narcotics, etc., or the Act on Special Measures for the Control of Public Health Crimes
