18) Oriental Medicine Pharmacist

  • Eligibility
    1. A person who graduated from the herbal medicine pharmacy department of a university and has acquired a bachelor's degree in herbal medicine pharmacy. Those who are still completing their study must confirm that their graduation will be no later than February of the following year after application. If they fail to have graduated from the school within the period, their passing will be invalidated.
    2. A person who falls under one of following criteria and completed the required number of credits (95 credits) or more related to herbal pharmacy:
      • A person who was studying in a college of pharmacy as of March 6, 1997 and entered the college before 1996.
      • A person who graduated from a college of pharmacy as of March 6, 1997
      • As of March 6, 1997 a person who was in a college studying a course other than pharmacy and entered the college before 1996 (according to the Supreme Court rulings 2005-Du-No.4649, 2005-Du-No.11647, including a person who entered and transferred school in 1997) and graduated from a university other than a college of pharmacy

       
      ※ Subjects related to herbal medicine (95 credits)
      • Subjects related to the production and manufacture of herbal medicines (15 credits or more): natural chemical substances and its practice, pharmaceutics and its practice, etc.
      • Subjects related to the dispensing of herbal medicines (30 credits or more): herbology and its practice, pharmacognosy and its practice, prescriptions of herbal medicine and its practice, introduction to herbal medicine and herbal pharmacology, etc.
      • Subjects related to the identification of herbal medicines (5 or more credits): pharmacopoeia (section on herbal medicine), drug analytics and its practice, etc.
      • Subjects related to the storage and distribution of herbal medicines (5 or more credits): distribution of herbal medicine resources and storage of herbal medicine, etc.
      • Subjects related to other fundamentals of herbal pharmacy (40 credits or more): biochemistry and its practice, pharmaceutical microbiology and its practice, physiology, toxicology, pharmaceutical affairs laws, anatomy, pharmaceutical chemistry, Chinese characters in herbal pharmacy, and medical botany, etc.

    Disqualification standards
    1. A mentally ill person under Subparagraph 1 of Article 3 of the Mental Health Act(except for those who are recognized by a medical specialist to be fit to perform affairs related to a pharmacist)
    2. An incompetent or a quasi-incompetent person
    3. An addict to narcotics, marijuana or any psychoactive drugs
    4. A person who has been sentenced to imprisonment without prison labor or a heavier penalty on charges of violating the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act, the Act on the Control of Narcotics, etc., the Act on Special Measures for the Control of Public Health Crimes, the Medical Service Act, Article 347 of the Criminal Act (limited to the case of deceiving patients or an institution or organization paying the drug expenses by demanding the drug expenses by falsity; thereinafter the same should apply) and other Acts and subordinate statutes related to pharmaceutical affairs and for whom the sentence has yet to be terminated or exemption from its execution has yet to be made definite.
    5. A person who has been subjected to the cancellation of licensure by committing the crimes under Article 347 of the Criminal Act and for whom three years have not elapsed; or subjected to the cancellation of licensure by violating Acts and subordinate statutes relating to pharmaceutical affairs; and for whom two years have not elapsed
